Revalidation and continuing professional development

In the December 2016 issue of the Australasian Psychiatry podcast, RANZCP President Malcolm Hopwood describes how the Board and committees have refined the approach to continuing professional development over the last two years. President Hopwood proposes that these changes anticipate changes being contemplated by the Medical Board of Australia to move to a more structured program of regular revalidation of medical competence. The program includes mechanisms for fellows to contribute to the initial structure and ongoing improvement of the CPD system.
